Abstract: Histone-like proteins were isolated from blood plasma of rats with tumors. By polyacrylamide gel disc electrophoresis the proteins were separated into two fractions, resembling in their mobility histone fractions H1 and H2b+H2a. Basic proteins, occurring in blood plasma and used as standards (globulin, interferon, RNAase, lysozyme), were markedly distinct in their electrophoretic properties from both histone fractions and the histone-like proteins isolated from blood plasma. These histones apparently originate from nucleoproteins of blood plasma
