Abstract: A procedure is developed for estimation of DNA microquantities in biological samples, which involved acid hydrolysis of DNA and the following microbiological estimation of its concentration. A sensitivity of the procedure was as little as 0.25 micrograms DNA per ml. At the DNA concentration 0.25-10 micrograms/ml growth of the indicator strain of bacteria exhibited the linear shape. As shown by means of the procedure developed one rat leukocyte contained 6.3 +/- 0.6 X 10(-12) g of DNA.
