Abstract: Adaptation of animals to short-term stressory actions was shown to prevent an excessive stimulation of adrenergic and hypophysis-adrenal system, impairments of oxidation and phosphorylation in heart muscle mitochondria as well as the contractile function of heart muscle, occurred after the prolonged emotional-painful stress.
