Abstract: Isoenzymatic spectrum of aldehyde dehydrogenase (AIDH) has been studied in the liver of rats of both sexes. The absence or presence of the fourth isoenzyme of AIDH is apparently an indicator of predisposition of rats to ethanol consumption.
