Abstract: Effect of taurine on content of electrolytes was studied in rat myocardium, liver tissue, skeletal muscles and erythrocytes. The balanced electrolytic state of a body was impaired by administration of adrenaline at arrhythmogenic doses, while content of potassium in erythrocytes was altered by means of addition of adrenaline or p-chloromercuribenzoate into the incubation medium. Taurine was shown to normalize the content of potassium and calcium ions in vivo and in vitro.
