Abstract: Distinct increase in lipid peroxidation was found in myocardium of rats, subjected to acute hemorrhage followed by clinical death. Inhibition of the enzymatic system, protecting cells from free radicals influence, as well as a decrease of the bioantioxidants content in myocardium correlated with activation of lipid peroxidation. Content of lipid hydroperoxides, trienic carbonyls and Schiff bases achieved especially high level under unfavourable conditions of the postresuscitation period.
