Abstract: In persons professionally contacting with pesticides for a long time activity of membrane-bound monoamine oxidases (MAO) was statistically distinctly higher (about 2-fold) in blood thrombocytes, while activity of soluble amine oxidase (AO) was considerably lower (about 5-fold) in blood serum and plasma as compared with persons who did not have prolonged contact with pesticides. These data suggest that estimation of MAO activity in thrombocytes and of AO activity in blood serum may be used for hygienic evaluation of criteria involved in the conception 'normal state--prepathology'.
