Abstract: A procedure is described which enabled to isolate rapidly at the preparative scale as well as to estimate with high rate of sensitivity the phosphatidyl inositols in mixtures of native lipids. Efficiency of the procedure developed is based on some advantages of the technique of horizontal flow chromatography as well as on use of silica gel containing potassium carbonate obtained after precipitation. Quantitative estimation of phosphatidyl inositols involved densitometry of narrow silica gel strips containing 10-15 samples simultaneously.
