Abstract: Antioxidative homeostasis was investigated in blood plasma and lymphocytes ofpatients with hypertonic disease (stage II). The intensification of lipid peroxidation wasaccompanied by accumulation of polyenic fatty acid derivatives and toxic dialdehydes andalso by mobilization of lipid soluble vitamins. Vitamin E is probably involved into directbinding of toxic LPO products. Such changes provide high antioxidant activity and normalfunctioning of lymphocytes.
