Abstract: The levels of blood lymphocyteNAD(P)-dependent dehydrogenases were investigated in children and teenagers with differentduration of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) The level of some NAD(P)-dependent dehydrogenases changed proportionally independence of IDDM duration and insulin theraoy did not restore their activities to the normal level. It is suggested that thesechanges may reflect decrease of energy metabolism and plastic processes in bloodlymphocytes from diabetic childrenat and teenagers reflecting. These changes correspond toaltered functional reactivity of immunocompetent cells and represent metabolic basis ofimmunopathogenic complications of IDDM.
