Abstract: Obesity and type 2 diabetes (DM2) in women are accompanied by atherogenic dyslipidemia, with the activation of lipid peroxidation (LPO), as well as disturbances in the antioxidant defense system (ADS). DM2 due to imbalance in LPO-ADS is accompanied by a high concentration of LPO products, decreased parameters of antioxidant systems and timpaired utilization of glucose by cells. The results obtained in this study suggest an important role of fatty acids and their metabolites in the pathogenesis of obesity and DM2, which should be taken into consideration during design and selection of appropriate preventive and therapeutic measures aimed at prevention or elimination of the violations.
