Наиболее изучены катепсины В, Н, L, S и К. Обсуждаются особенности регуляции лизосомных цистеиновых протеиназ, в частности, регуляции специфическими эндогенными ингибиторами. Рассматривается участие этих ферментов в развитии физиологических и патологических процессов. Представлены данные относительно роли лизосомных цистеиновых протеиназ и их ингибиторов при неопластической трансформации.
