Urine of patients with syringomyelia was analysed by gel filtration, ion-exchange chromatography and analytical chemistry methods. Increased level of acidic glycoproteins and decreased level glycosaminoglycanes levels were found. Patients with syringomyelia had smaller glycosaminoglycans components of proteoglycans than normal subjects.
