A fold estimation of cysteine-rich domain (CRD) of metabotropic glutamate (mGlu) receptor was made using threading methodology. For improving of prediction results calculations for all eight subtypes of mGlu were performed. This methodology modification allowed us to identify protein fold satisfying for all eight mGlu receptor subtypes. Additional shuffling tests indicate correctness obtained results. The fold variant is immunoglobulin-like β-sandwich. A number of conclusions about functional and structural role of CRD were made
