Diabetogenic factor, isolated from blood plasma of rats with alloxan diabetes, was shown to be an acid albumin, which appears to contain a single polypeptide chain. The amino acid composition of the factor was similar to that of albumin from blood of healthy animals. At the same time, content of glutamic acid and glizine was higher in the diabetogenic factor as compared with the albumin of control rats.
