Total adaptational syndrome, developed in response to a number of stress situations, is of importance in formation of accommodation reactions. Long-term and severe effects of the syndrome caused morphological and functional alterations in various tissues and body systems: adrenal gland hypertrophy, involution of thymus and spleen, ulcerous impairment of gastric mucosal membrane. At the same time, lipid peroxidation was increased while accumulation of the peroxidation products was observed, which are responsible for various body impairments.
