Effects of blood serum pentameric and monomeric C-reactive proteins (pCRP and mCRP, respectively) on human peripheric blood neutrophils were studied. Isolated neutrophils were incubated for 2 hrs in the medium containing 3H-RNA or protein synthesis precursors. Both pCRP and mCRP stimulated the RNA synthesis in neutrophils. Effect of mCRP was more prominent than that of pCRP. Simultaneous addition of these CRP forms abolished their stimulating capacities. CRP had no significant action on the protein synthesis in neutrophils.
