Fatty acid composition of separate fractions of lipids from tumor tissue in breast cancer

The distribution of major fatty acids in neutral lipids and phospholipids was studied in breast tumor tissue. The most pronounced differences in the content of individual fatty acids were found in the fractions of diacylglycerol and phosphatidylethanolamine, which mainly applies to unsaturated acids. Possible impairments of transacetylation mechanisms in carcinogenesis are discussed
