Severity of paralytic syndrome correlated with impairments in some functions of liver tissue (bile secretion, concentrating and detoxicating capacities) as well as with content of biogenic amines, lactic and pyruvic acids in liver and in blood, flowing in and out the liver tissue in dogs with experimental allergic encephalomyelitis and with postdiphtheritic polyneuritis. The alterations observed were due to development of demyelinization in the nerves and to the effects of additional factors, caused by insufficiency in external respiration.
