Methylation of DNA from rat lymphoid tissues in development of immune response

Within 4 days after immunization of rats by means of sheep erythrocyte suspension (of various concentration) analysis of nucleotide composition of DNA, isolated from the animal lymphoid tissue, was carried out using cellulose thin-layer chromatography. The immunization was shown to affect distinctly the DNA methylation in rat lymphoid tissue; sometimes, it altered the DNA nucleotide composition. The data obtained correspond with the well-recognized phenomenon on dependence of the immune response on the antigen concentration.
