Increase in content of methemoglobin as well as the ratio between amount of this hemoglobin and fetal hemoglobin were observed in erythrocytes of children with hypothyrosis. The correlation was also found between the activity of catalase and the blood concentration of hemoglobin in children with decompensation of hypothyrosis. Substitution therapy with thyroiodine normalized the content of methemoglobin, fetal hemoglobin and the catalase activity.
